Veteran RB Chris Johnson Facing Misdemeanor Battery Charge

WFTS in Tampa Bay is reporting that veteran RB Chris Johnson is facing misdemeanor battery charge following an incident that took place at a nightclub back in April.

The altercation involving Johnson was over some keys and he allegedly assaulted a valet at ‘The Lodge,’ on South Howard Ave in Tampa’s Hyde Park.

The victim suffered bloody nose and a cut lip and the incident was caught on surveillance video.

According to the report, Johnson entered a plea of not guilty.

Johnson, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Titans back in 2008. After six years in Tennessee, Johnson signed on with the Jets for the 2014 season but spent just one year in New York before joining the Cardinals the following season.

Arizona elected to bring Johnson back on one-year contracts each of the past three seasons, but he cut loose last October.

In 2017, Johnson appeared in four games and rushed for 114 yards on 45 carries (2.5 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 43 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
