Veteran TE Richard Gordon Arrested On Domestic Battery Charges

Brian Hamacher of NBCMiami.com reports that veteran TE Richard Gordon was arrested on battery charges Tuesday after he allegedly punched his girlfriend.

Gordon is also facing a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer and is being held on $6,000 bond.

According to the police report, officers responded after a passerby reported seeing a man punching a woman and pushing her out of a Mercedes SUV.

Officers found Gordon’s girlfriend, who happens to be the mother of his three-year old child. She told officers that Gordon started acting crazy and flipped out while she was driving him to pick up his car near a strip club.

Gordon allegedly punched her arm several times and slapped her in the face, which left her with redness, swelling and bruising.

Officers found an AR-15 rifle in plain view inside Gordon’s car along with 13 grams of marijuana.

Gordon, 29, was taken in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Raiders. He spent two years with Oakland before he was waived and later caught on with the Steelers.

The Chiefs re-signed him as an unrestricted free agent in March before later releasing him from injured reserve with a settlement.

Gordon signed with the Broncos back in October of last year before later catching on with the Ravens towards the end of the season. The Broncos elected to sign him to a future/reserve contract in January before cut him loose a few weeks ago.

In 2015, Gordon appeared in one game, but didn’t recorded a single statistic.
