Vick Ballard In Line For A Large Workload In Week 15

Colts interim head coach Bruce Arians mentioned that RB Vick Ballard will in fact handle the majority of the team’s carries against the Houston Texans this weekend.

“As long as he can stay in there he’ll stay in there and when he needs to tap out, Mewelde will go in,” Arians said, via the Indianapolis Star.

The Colts were forced to sign two free agent running backs (Mewelde Moore and Deji Karim) this week after they lost Delone Carter and Donald Brown to injuries.

Despite the fact that Ballard will get every opportunity to put up a lot of yards, the Texans are one of the worst matchup’s in terms of run defense. This game will almost certainly come down to Andrew Luck‘s ability to attack Houston’s shaky secondary and try to offset the interior pass rush provided by Antonio Smith and J.J. Watt.
