Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz says talks between him and Giants regarding a contract extension “are moving in the right direction,” per ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

After every game this season, Cruz’s price goes up. Cruz has backed up last year’s breakout performance so far this season, as he ranks fourth in receptions (52), sixth in receiving yards (650), and is tied for first in touchdowns (7). He has shown that he can be an elite receiver this season after he picked up the slack when teammate Hakeem Nicks missed time earlier this year.
There’s a chance that this deal could get done sooner rather than later, but the fact that he will be a restricted free agent following the season affords the Giants some leeway.
