Vikings Considered “The Top Candidate” To Play Home Games In London

Brian Murphy of the Pioneer Press reports that “two people with direct knowledge of the situation” have mentioned that the Minnesota Vikings are now the “top candidate” to play some of their homes games in London’s Wembley Stadium over the next four years.

We’ve expressed an interest, and there’s a process the league is following,” said Vikings vice president of public affairs Lester Bagley. “We’ll see how it shakes out.”

The Vikings will be dealing with some stadium issues until their new facility is built, so it does make sense that they would at least consider the idea, now that the St Louis Rams have backed out of their agreement. Minnesota should have their stadium finished by 2016.
