Vikings Cut 13 Players Including CB Derek Cox

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that the Vikings have begun to make their roster cuts and veteran CB Derek Cox is among them.

Cox, 27, was a bust of a free agent signing last year when the Chargers signed him to a four-year contract worth $20 million that included $10.25 million guaranteed.

However, the Vikings took a chance on him seeing as they could use some depth at cornerback. Cox signed just a one-year, $780,000 contract with Minnesota, so it won’t hurt them to part ways with Cox.

Last year, Cox appeared in all 16 games, but totaled just 38 tackles and an interception. Pro Football Focus rated Cox as the No. 104 cornerback in the league out of 110 qualifying players last year.
