Vikings DE Brian Robison Agrees To Pay Cut

Field Yates of ESPN reports that Vikings DE Brian Robison agreed to a pay cut earlier this month to be back with the team for the 2018 season.

According to Yates, Robison agreed to reduce his base salary from $3.2 million to $1.015 million, which freed up $2,382,500 of cap space for the Vikings.

Robison recently announced that he’s returning for another season.

There was talk that Robison and RB Latavius Murray could both be candidates to take pay cuts this offseason, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Robison, 35, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2007. He has played all 11 seasons in Minnesota and is in the final year of his two-year, $7.5 million contract that included $3.9 million guaranteed and was set to make a base salary of $3.2 million for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Robison appeared in 15 games for the Vikings and recorded 20 tackles, four sacks, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 91 edge rusher out of 106 qualifying players.
