Vikings HC Leslie Frazier’s Job Is Safe Through 2014?

Vikings GM Rick Spielman mentioned during an interview that HC Leslie Frazier‘s job is safe through 2014 season.

“Leslie Frazier is not going anywhere,” Spielman said, via the Associated Press. “I am telling you that we are very committed to Leslie Frazier and this coaching staff. And we’re committed to our players, and everybody is working extremely hard to get this thing turned around.”

After three straight blowout losses, it was widely assumed that Frazier was firmly on the hot seat, but it appears as though Spielman is trying to sell the public the idea of organizational stability being the best long-term solution for the franchise.

Minnesota exercised Frazier’s 2014 option back February, which could be seen as another indication that Frazier will be retained beyond this season, as NFL teams do not like to pay to two coaches at the same time.

While Spielman has given Frazier the dreaded vote of confidence, his reassurance may prove to be of little value as the team’s GM could also be on the hot seat.
