Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN reports that the Vikings are doing their due diligence on free agent WR Michael Floyd and Minnesota is “highly, highly interested” in him.

Wolfson adds that the Redskins are another team worth watching in regards to a potential landing spot for Floyd.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s a good chance Floyd will receive some sort of suspension for his DUI arrest from last year.

There hasn’t been any reported interest in Floyd since free agency opened back in March until now. Floyd is still one of the best available free agents and it’s possible that the market could pick up in the coming weeks.

Floyd, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2012. He played his four-year, $9.972 million contract before the Cardinals elected to pick up his fifth-year option in 2015.

After he was arrested for DUI last year, Arizona elected to cut him loose and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Patriots.

In 2016, Floyd has appeared in 15 games and caught 37 passes for 488 yards receiving and five touchdowns for the Patriots. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 94 receiver out of 115 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
