Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Vikings hosted former Eagles ILB Casey Matthews for a visit on Tuesday.
This is the first reported interest in Matthews since free agency got underway three weeks ago. The inside linebacker market has been slow-moving to say the least, but Minnesota has reportedly checked in on a few players in recent days.
Matthews, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2011. He played out his four-year, $2,479,864 rookie contract that included $434,864 guaranteed and has been a free agent for the past few weeks.
In 2014, Matthews appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and recorded 53 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 47 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players.
