Vikings Inquire About RB Stevan Ridley

Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports that the Vikings have inquired about free agent RB Stevan Ridley in recent days.

• Tomasson’s source said stressed that this is all very preliminary and there may only be interest if RB Adrian Peterson ends up leaving Minnesota.
• Tomasson adds that the Vikings are doing their due diligence at running back for now.

Ridley, 26, played out his four-year, $2,953,500 rookie contract that included $1,023,000 guaranteed and will now get the opportunity to test the open market. Unfortunately for Ridley, he went down with a serious knee injury last year that will end up impacting the kind of offers he receives.

In 2014, Ridley ran for 340 yards on 94 carries (3.6 YPC) to go along with four receptions for 20 yards receiving and two total touchdowns over the course of six games.
