Vikings Place LB Desmond Bishop On Season-Ending IR

Update:

The Minnesota Vikings announced on Thursday that they have placed LB Desmond Bishop on season-ending injured reserve following his knee injury.

The Vikings signed WR Rodney Smith to their active roster, and signed S Brandon Bishop to their practice squad.

Bishop, 29, signed with the Vikings after he was surprisingly released by the Packers back in June. Many expected Bishop to solidify a starting role in the Vikings defense, but he has been relegated to a limited number of snaps this season.

He only received a one-year deal from Minnesota, so this is really not good for his chances of finding a new team next year.

The Minnesota Vikings have announced that LB Desmond Bishop has a torn ACL and will be out for the remainder of the 2013 season.

Desmond Bishop tore his ACL and will have to have surgery,” said HC Leslie Frazier on Monday.
