Vikings Lose RT Phil Loadholt For The Season

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that starting RT Phil Loadholt is out for the remainder of the 2014 season after he suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Sunday’s loss to the Packers.

  • Rapoport adds that Loadholt’s injury will require season-ending surgery.

Loadholt, 28, in in the second year of his four-year, $25 million contract that included $7 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $5.4 million to go along with a $500,000 roster bonus in 2015.

Loadholt has appeared in all 11 games for the Vikings was rated as the No. 32 offensive tackle out of 79 qualifying players this by Pro Football Focus.

Michael Harris replaced Loadholt on Sunday, but struggled to hold up in pass protection, according to PFF’s ratings.
