Vikings LT Jake Long Likely Out For Season With Achilles Injury

Update:

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer told reporters after Sunday’s game that LT Jake Long suffered an Achilles injury and is likely out for the season, per VikingsUpdate.

———-

Vikings LT Jake Long was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game with what appeared to be a left leg injury.

The Vikings’ offensive line has been decimated by injuries this year, which forced them to sign Long a month ago.

Long has dealt with knee injuries over the past few years, so hopefully this doesn’t end up being another major knee injury.

Long, 31, is a former No. 1 overall pick by the Dolphins back in 2008. He spent five years in Miami before signing on with the Rams as an unrestricted free agent during the 2013 offseason.

Long has unfortunately dealt with multiple ACL tears over the past few years, which led to him signing a one-year deal with the Falcons last year as a reserve lineman. The Vikings gave him a one-year contract back in October.

In 2016, Long has appeared in four games for the Vikings and has played a total of 265 snaps heading into today’s game.
