Vikings Could Have A New Contract In Place For CB Marcus Sherels Before Free Agency

Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press spoke with the agent for Vikings CB Marcus Sherels who told him that he’s “optimistic” they will be able to reach an agreement on a new contract before the start of free agency.

Sherels, 26, will be a restricted free agent in the coming weeks, but it appears as though the Vikings have plans to bring him back for at least next year.

The Vikings signed Sherels as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota back in 2010. He appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings last season and totaled 47 tackles, one interception and seven pass defenses.
