The Minnesota Vikings announced Friday that they’ve placed CB Mackensie Alexander on injured reserve and promoted RB C.J. Ham to their active roster.

Alexander, 23, was taken in the second round of this year’s NFL draft by the Vikings. He’s currently in the first year of his four-year, $4.316 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $646,196 and $842,391 over the next two years.

In 2016, Alexander appeared in 13 games for the Vikings and recorded five tackles, no interceptions and no pass defenses.

Ham, 23, wound up signing on with th eVikings as an undrafted free agent out of Augustana back in May. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to their practice squad.
