Vikings Place RB Bishop Sankey On Injured Reserve

The Minnesota Vikings placed RB Bishop Sankey on the injured reserve list after passing through waivers unclaimed.

Sankey, 24, was taken with the No. 54 overall pick in 2014. He was in the third year of his four-year, $3.843 million contract and set to make a base salary of $769,408 in 2016 when he was cut loose coming out of the preseason.

Sankey played for the Patriots and Chiefs last year before eventually signing on to the Vikings’ practice squad. Minnesota brought him back on a future/reserve contract this past January.

The Vikings waived him with an injury designation after suffering a torn ACL.

In 2015, Sankey appeared in 13 games for the Titans and ran for 193 yards on 47 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with 14 receptions for 139 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
