Vikings Place RB Jerick McKinnon On Season-Ending I.R. & Sign S Ahmad Dixon

The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they have placed rookie RB Jerick McKinnon season-ending injured reserve Saturday.

McKinnon, 22, was the Vikings’ third-round pick this past year. He wound up putting together a decent rookie year which included 538 yards rushing on 113 carries (4.8 YPC) and 27 receptions for 135 yards receiving over the course of 11 games.

Dixon, 23, was taken in the seventh round of this year’s NFL draft by the Cowboys. However, he was unable to make the team out of training camp and was among their final roster cuts.

During his four years at Baylor, Dixon recorded 288 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, one sack, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and scored a defensive touchdown.
