Vikings Place TE Rhett Ellison On IR, Promote DE B.J. Dubose

The Minnesota Vikings officially placed TE Rhett Ellison on season-ending injured reserve on Wednesday and promoted DE B.J. Dubose to their active roster.

  • The Vikings also signed DT Toby Johnson to their practice squad.

Ellison, unfortunately, suffered a torn patellar tendon during Sunday night’s win over the Packers.

Ellison, 27, is in the final year of his four-year, $2.4 million rookie contract that included a $300,584 signing bonus. He;ll make a base salary of $660,000 this season before testing the open market in the coming months.

In 2015, Ellison appeared in 15 games and caught 11 passes for 124 yards receiving and a touchdown for the Vikings.
