Vikings Players Informed That Shaun Hill Expected To Start In Week 1

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Vikings players were informed that QB Shaun Hill is expected to start at quarterback for them in Week 1.

The Vikings have yet to confirm the news.

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer said Friday that he’s decided on who will start at quarterback in Week 1, but he has no plans to show his hand until Sunday.

The Vikings traded for Sam Bradford last weekend, but it would have been a tall task for them to get him up to speed in time for him to be comfortable enough in their offense to start.

It still wouldn’t be surprising to see Bradford take over for Hill in Week 2, depending on how things go for the Vikings’ offense this weekend.

Hill, 36, is in the second year of his two-year, $6.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $3.2 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Hill appeared in three games for the Vikings and completed two of seven pass attempts for 15 yards to go along with no touchdowns or interceptions.
