Vikings Prepared To Move On Without WR Jerome Simpson Next Season?

Tom Pelissero of the ESPN 1500 Twin Cities writes that it seems likely that the Vikings will look for a better options at receiver during the offseason and allow Jerome Simpson to leave.

This does not qualify as being shocking in the least. Simpson has totaled just 19 receptions for 203 yards this season to go along with zero touchdowns. It’s actually more surprising that the Vikings singled him out as a potential upgrade when he wasn’t really that productive for the Bengals last season. Simpson graded out as one of the worst receivers in the league last season by Pro Football Focus and still is in the bottom quarter again this year.

There will be plenty of options available during free agency, so it seems like it’s about time that the Vikings secure a legitimate No. 1 receiver to play alongside of Percy Harvin.
