Vikings Prepared To Offer Leslie Frazier A Contract Extension?

Jeff Zulgad of ESPN 1500 Twin Cities writes that it’s likely “only a matter of time” before the Minnesota Vikings offer head coach Leslie Frazier a contract extension. Zulgad adds that while it’s almost certain that Frazier will have an offer to consider, a deal probably won’t be finalized until after the season.

Frazier’s first full season with the Vikings was pretty disappointing in terms of their overall record (3-13), but he was starting a rookie quarterback and there were some holes on their roster that needed to be addressed. Clearly, this year’s Vikings team is much improved and has added some solid young talent to their roster. Minnesota’s success is ultimately tied to Christian Ponder, but they’re currently a single game away from making the playoffs. A win in Week 17 would be very big for Frazier and a Vikings team that was picked to finish last in the NFC North by almost everyone.
