Vikings Prepared To Start Joe Webb Tonight?

Reports have been coming in all day that the Minnesota Vikings could be forced to start backup QB Joe Webb over Christian Ponder for today’s playoff game against the Green Bay Packers.

Dan Wiederer of the Star Tribune reports that he’s been informed that the  it is “looking more likely” that Webb will be under center for tonight’s game.

Ponder is dealing with elbow bursitis in his throwing arm that may have to be drained at some point. Webb received all of the team’s first-team practice reps this week, so the Vikings were obviously aware of that this could be a decision that they would be forced to make.

There’s still time for Ponder to get the start, so we’ll have more updates as the news becomes available.
