Vikings Promote QB Chandler Harnish To Active Roster, Waive WR Rodney Smith

The Minnesota Vikings announced a few hours before Thursday night’s game that they have promoted QB Chandler Harnish to their active roster and waived WR Rodney Smith to make room for him.

This could be see as a sign that rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater will be held out of tonight’s game as they would likely move forward with him and Christian Ponder in the event they felt comfortable about Bridgewater playing on his injured ankle.

Harnish, 26, was signed to the team’s practice squad earlier this week. He’s a former seventh-round pick of the Colts back in 2012. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
