Vikings Promote WR Isaac Fruechte To Active Roster

The Minnesota Vikings have promoted WR Isaac Fruechte to their active roster on Friday, according to his agent Blake Baratz.

  • Chris Tomasson notes that the Vikings will need to place someone on injured reserve tomorrow to make room for Fruechte.

Fruechte, 25, wound up signing a three-year $1.575 million contract with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota back in May of last year. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster last season but was later signed to the team’s practice squad and brought back on a future/reserve contract this past January.

After the Vikings cut Fruechte at the start of the regular season again this year, he signed on to the Lions’ practice squad before returning to the Vikings a few weeks into the regular season.

During his college career, Fruechte caught 50 passes for 702 yards receiving to go along with three touchdowns over the course of 30 games.
