Vikings RB Toby Gerhart Out A While

The final two games of the season cost the Vikings both of their running backs as Adrian Peterson blew out his knee and backup Toby Gerhart torn his MCL against Chicago.

The Pioneer Press reports that Gerhart will have a lengthy recovery process to deal with in the coming months but there’s at some hope that he won’t require surgery in order to repair his ligament.

Jeremy Fowler and the Pioneer Press tweets that Gerhart said that the “swelling should go down with rest as my range of motion returns.

We’ll have to see how things look at the start of training camp for both players but it’s certainly an issue of concern for the Vikings.
