Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press is reporting that the Vikings are re-signing K Kai Forbath to a one-year contract on Tuesday.
Forbath, 30, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2011. Forbath had a brief stint with the Buccaneers before joining the Redskins for the 2012 season. After three years in Washington, Forbath signed on with the Saints during the 2015 season and returned to New Orleans on a one-year contract the following year.
The Vikings signed Forbath to a two-year contract is worth $1.1 million towards the end of the 2016 season. He was testing the free agent market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
In 2017, Forbath appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings and converted 32 of 38 field goal attempts (84.2 percent) to go along with 34 of 39 extra point attempts (87.2 percent) and 44 touchbacks.
