Vikings Re-Signing Veteran DT Tom Johnson

Tom Pelissero reports that the Vikings are expected to re-sign free agent DT Tom Johnson to a one-year deal worth up to $1.5 million.

Johnson, 34, originally signed on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss back in 2006. He lasted just over a year with the Colts before eventually catching on with the Saints in 2011.

After three years in New Orleans, Johnson signed a one-year deal with the Vikings. The Seahawks signed Johnson to a one-year, $2.1 million contract this past March, but waived him last week.

Johnson’s 2018 salary is already guaranteed and the Seahawks were reportedly planning to re-sign at some point this week. However, he is electing to sign with the Vikings instead.

In 2018, Johnson has appeared in one game and recorded one tackle and no sacks.
