Vikings Release Veteran DT Fred Evans

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Vikings have released veteran DT Fred Evans on Saturday.

The Vikings brought Evans back on a one-year deal worth $1 million back in March, but it appears as though they prefer some of their younger options at interior defensive tackle.

Evans, 30, appeared in 14 games and totaled 20 tackles and a forced fumble for the Vikings in 2013.

According to Pro Football Focus, Evans graded out as the No. 46 defensive tackle in the league and was a solid run-defender.
