Vikings Release Veteran WR Jerome Simpson

The Minnesota Vikings announced Thursday night that they have released veteran WR Jerome Simpson.

The NFL suspended him three games for the incident and he was unable to reduce the ban with an appeal. This suspension was treated as a second offense given that Simpson was previously arrested for suspended the first three games of the 2012 season.

Simpson, 29, signed a one-year contract worth $1 million with the Vikings back in March, Last year, he appeared in 16 games and caught 48 receptions for 726 yards receiving and a touchdown.
