Vikings Rumors: Percy Harvin, Vincent Jackson, Greg Camarillo, Visanthe Shiancoe

Percy Harvin

Tom Pelissero of ESPN 1500 mentions that Vikings will use WR Percy Harvin “even less” on kickoffs next year.

Harvin is one of the teams’ best offensive weapons and is expected to see an increased role there barring another injury. What’s amazing is that, Harvin is just 23 years old so he has a plenty of productive seasons ahead of him.

Vincent Jackson

Judd Zulgad of ESPN 1500 reports that the Vikings’ previous interest in Chargers WR Vincent Jackson had more to do with Brad Childress than the rest of the team.

Minnesota is expected to active in free agency and players like Jackson and Brandon Carr seem like obvious targets, assuming that they’re available.

Greg Camarillo

Jeremy Fowler reports that Minnesota has informed WR Greg Camarillo that he’s not a part of their future plans and will not be re-signed in the coming months.

Camarillo, 30, came over from the Dolphins in a trade but never managed to produce the way that the Vikings were hoping that he would. In fact, he caught 29 catches in both seasons with the team.

Visanthe Shiancoe

Tom Pelissero of ESPN 1500 also mentioned that they will not re-sign TE Visanthe Shiancoe.

It’s time to for them to get more use out of Kyle Rudolph who could emerge as a serious weapon in the passing for Christian Ponder and the Vikings offense next season.
