Vikings Sign G Bryan Witzmann, Place OT Aviante Collins On IR

The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday that they’ve signed G Bryan Witzmann to a contract and placed OT Aviante Collins on injured reserve.

Witzmann, 28, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Houston before signing on to the Saints’ practice squad a few weeks into the 2015 season.

New Orleans elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract, but he was unfortunately waived a few weeks after the 2016 draft. Witzmann had a brief stint with the Cowboys before the Chiefs claimed off waivers.

Last year, the Chiefs signed Witzmann two-year, $990,000 contract. However, he was cut loose coming out of the preseason.

In 2017, Witzmann appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs.
