Vikings Sign QB Brad Sorensen, Waive RB Kevin Monangai

The Minnesota Vikings announced Saturday that they’ve signed QB Brad Sorensen to a contract and placed RB Kevin Monangai on waivers.

Sorensen, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Chargers back in 2013. He was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later signed by the Titans to their practice squad.

However, he lasted less than a week in Tennessee before later returning to the Chargers at the end of the 2014 season.

San Diego elected to bring Sorensen back on a future/reserve contract in January. However, he was later waived with a non-football injury designation in April.

Sorensen has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Monangai, 23, was signed to the Eagles’ practice squad as an undrafted free agent out of Villanova. However, the Eagles cut him loose shortly after this year’s draft.

The Vikings just signed him to a contract a few weeks ago.

Over the course of four years at Villanova, Monangai ram for 3,167 yards while averaging 5.1 yards-per-carry to go along with 29 touchdowns. He also contributed 38 receptions for 274 yards receiving and five touchdown receptions.
