Vikings Signing OT Andre Smith To A One-Year Deal

Free agent OT Andre Smith announced via his Twitter account Thursday that he’s signed a one-year deal with the Vikings.

  • Darren Wolfson reports that Smith receives a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million.

Reports mentioned that the Cardinals may have interest in Smith. However, Cardinals GM Steve Keim mentioned Thursday that their interest in him was largely overstated, which implies that Smith may have been using them to drive up his price.

Smith, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2009. He’s spent all seven years of his career in Cincinnati and is currently one of the best available offensive tackles in this year’s market.

In 2015, Smith appeared in 14 games for the Bengals and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 56 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 2016 Free Agents list.
