Vikings SignQB Case Keenum To One-Year, $2M Deal

Mark Berman of FOX 26 is reporting that the Vikings are signing QB Case Keenum to a contract on Friday.

  • According to Adam Caplan, Keenum receives a one-year, $2 million contract plus incentives.

The Vikings were expected to add a quarterback at some point this offseason, given that there’s no telling when Teddy Bridgewater will be back from the terrible knee injury he sustained last summer.

Depending on how Bridgewater is doing with his recovery, it’s possible Keenum could be the team’s backup to Sam Bradford for the 2017 season.

Keenum, 29, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in 2013. He spent two years with the Texans before he was claimed off of waivers by the Rams.

He later returned to the Texans before being traded to the Rams for a 2016 seventh-round pick. The Rams elected to use a first-round tender on Keenum last year that paid him $3.635 million for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Keenum has appeared in 10  games and completed 60.9 percent of his passes for 2,201 yards, nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 29 quarterback out of 34 qualifying players.
