Vikings Targeting A CB In Round 1?

Ben Goessling of the Pioneer Press expects to see the Vikings target a cornerback with one of their two first-round picks during Thursday’s NFL draft.

Goessling specifically mentions that Houston’s D.J. Hayden and Washington’s Desmond Trufant could both be in play for the Vikings later on in round one. Minnesota could always wait until the middle rounds to draft a cornerback as well.

The Vikings have two first-round picks at their disposal — No. 23 and N0. 25 overall — after they dealt WR Percy Harvin to the Seahawks last month. Unfortunately, they also lost CB Antoine Winfield to Seattle as well, so this is obviously an area of need for them.

Head coach Leslie Frazier mentioned that he expects them to address the position, so we’ll have to see if they end up going this route or choose to take either an inside linebacker, a defensive lineman or possibly even another wide receiver in the first-round.
