Vikings Veteran LB Chad Greenway Says He Plans To Return In 2016

Vikings veteran LB Chad Greenway told reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks that he can’t go out like this and indicated that he plans to return for the 2016 season.

“I’ve got to play one more year. I can’t let it end like this,” Greenway said, per Brian Murphy.

Greenway, 32, has one year remaining on his five-year, $40.6 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $3.4 million for the 2015 season.

He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months.

In 2015, Greenway recorded 68 tackles, 2.5 sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown and a pass defense over the course of all 16 games. However, Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 33 outside linebacker in a 4-3 defense out of 35 qualifying players.
