Vikings Waive CB Melvin White

The Minnesota Vikings announced Thursday that they’ve placed CB Melvin White on waivers.

White, 26, originally signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana-Lafayette back in 2013. He lasted just over a year in Carolina before he was among their early roster cuts at the start of the season.

The Rams later signed him to their practice squad at the start of the season before the Vikings signed him to their active roster. Minnesota elected to bring White back on a future/reserve contract.

In 2014, White appeared in 14 games and recorded 36 tackles, an interception, and six pass defenses for the Panthers.
