Vikings Waive QB Taylor Heinicke From IR With Settlement

The Minnesota Vikings officially waived QB Taylor Heinicke from injured reserve with a settlement on Monday.

Heinicke, 24, wound up signing on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Old Dominion back in May of 2015. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season but wasn’t active for a single game.

The Vikings wound up placing him on the non-football injury list at the start of the 2016 season with an ankle injury, but brought him back in November.

Unfortunately, the Vikings elected to waive Heinicke with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.

Heinicke has yet to appear in an NFL game.
