The Minnesota Vikings announced Thursday that they’ve released five players including: S Ahmad Dixon, RB Henry Josey, TE Ryan Otten, OT Antonio Richardson and G Austin Wentworth.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing these five players will free up $2.325 million in available cap space while creating no dead money.
Josey, 23, originally signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri back in May of last year. He lasted just a few months in Philadelphia before he was cut loose at the start of the season.
The Jaguars later signed him to their practice squad, but his time with Jacksonville was short lived as the Vikings wound up adding him to their active roster.
He had two-years remaining on his contract and would have made salaries of $435,000 (2015) and $525,000 (2016).
Josey has yet to appear in an NFL game.
