Vikings Waive Sixth-Round OT Tyrus Thompson From I.R.

The Minnesota Vikings waived 2015 sixth-round OT Tyrus Thompson injured reserve on Friday, according to the NFL transactions release.

Thompson, 23, is in the first year of his four-year, $2.395 million rookie contract that included a $115,325 signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $435,000 (2015), $525,000 (2016), $615,000 (2017), and $705,000 (2018).

Thompson was waived with the injury designation during the first round of roster cuts a few weeks ago, but later reverted to the Vikings’ injured reserve list after clearing waivers.

He’ll need to once again pass through waivers before he can sign on with a team of his choosing.
