Vikings Will Limit Adrian Peterson’s Workload To Start The Season

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier mentioned that they plan on limiting Adrian Peterson‘s early-season workload, in an attempt to prevent any possible setbacks regarding Peterson’s surgically repaired knee.

He’s so valuable to our organization that we have to be smart. We’ll tread lightly as far as Week 1 and how much he’ll contribute on the field,” said Frazier, via the USA Today. “Even when we get to training camp, he’s going to be chomping at the bit but we’ll have to be smart.”

Peterson may very well be able to play in the team’s first game of the season, but I’d be surprised to see him used in any more than a complimentary role until he’s closer to 100 percent.  Toby Gerhart figures to see the lions share of Vikings the carries early on.
