ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned that the Minnesota Vikings will most likely not have RB Adrian Peterson for Sunday’s game. Peterson has been dealing with an ankle that he suffered a few weeks ago.
“I would say right now it’s unlikely that Adrian Peterson ends up playing,” said Schefter.
Toby Gerhart has filled for Peterson and will resume that role as long as Peterson remains out. Percy Harvin has been used more in recent weeks but is injury prone so a heavy workload doesn’t fit his strengths.
It’s hard to say that Peterson will be next week but he’ll at the very least have a shot at returning for the game against the Detroit Lions.
