Vikings Worked Out 6 Players Including DE Devin Taylor & TE Gavin Escobar

Howard Balzer reports that the Vikings brought in six free agents for tryouts on Friday including TE Gavin Escobar and DE Devin Taylor.

The other players who worked out for Minnesota including TE Brandon Barnes, TE Scott Orndoff, S A.J. Hendy, and DE Pat O’Connor.

Escobar, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $4.21 million rookie contract with the Cowboys and was testing the open market for the first time in his career when he signed a one-year. $885,000 contract that included $80,000 guaranteed with the Chiefs this offseason.

Unfortunately, Kansas City elected to Escobar loose coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Escobar appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and caught four passes for 30 yards receiving and one touchdown.

Taylor, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Lions back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $2,460,584 rookie contract with the Lions before signing a one-year contract with the Giants this past May.

Unfortunately, the Giants cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Taylor appeared in all 16 games and recorded 28 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a safety and a pass defense for the Lions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 108 edge rusher out of 109 qualifying players.
