Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune provided some information about Vincent Jacksons current situation. He mentions that if Jackson is not signed by 6pm this Saturday, he will be placed on the Roster Exempt list which would force him to miss the first six games of the season.
Considering that Jackson will also face a suspension of three games which when added to the possible six game ban would account for over half of his season. Both the Chargers and Jackson could lose out on some amount of value if the deadline passes without a deal being reached.
Jackson’s agents have suggested that he may be willing to accept a one-year deal that would pay him a like a top-ten receiver.
