Coming into Sunday’s game everyone knew that it was only a matter of time before Wade Phillips was no longer the head coach in Big D but last nights blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers may force Jerry Jones‘s hand in the matter.
Jones stated earlier in the week that Phillips would remain the teams head coach for the duration of the season but after last nights loss he seemed to be as ready as ever to shake things up.
“There are a lot of people here who are certainly going to suffer and suffer consequences. I’m talking about within the team — players, coaches who have got careers,” Jones said. “I’ve got a lot of work to do, got a lot of decisions to make. And it’s not just one, two, three or four. There are several decisions. I think everybody in this country would agree that there’s a lot wrong with this team that we’ve got to address, and I’m certainly the one to address it,” added Jones.
It’s one thing for the team to lose but there is no way that Jerry Jones will continue to tolerate blowout losses. Early signs indicate that Phillips will not be let go as of yet but no one would be surprised if that changes.
