Washington Restructures Adam Carriker’s Contract

Jason La Canfora reports that the Washington has restructured DE Adam Carriker‘s to free up some much needed cap space.

La Canfora adds that they’re also to reworking WR Santana Moss‘ contract as well.

Carriker, 28, had a $3.7 million base salary coming his way, so it’s likely a good portion of that will be converted into a signing bonus that will be paid out over the remainder of his contract.

There were some rumors that Moss could be on the chopping block along with CB DeAngelo Hall, who was actually released earlier in the day. That apparently isn’t the case. Releasing Hall frees up close to $8 million in cap space.

The Redskins will likely turn their attention to free agent cornerbacks in the next few days.
