Washington Unlikely To Retain LB Lorenzo Alexander?

Alex Marvez of Fox Sports reports that Redskins LB Lorenzo Alexander has received interest from “multiple” teams and is not expected to re-sign with Washington.

The Redskins reportedly made Alexander unimpressive offer in hope of preventing him from hitting the open market.

Alexander, 29, is coming off of a Pro Bowl season and appears to be focused on leveraging his position in coming days.

Washington already has limited cap space to work with, so it’s doubtful that they would be able to make him a market-value offer. There have been rumors circulating that WR Santana Moss and CB DeAngelo Hall could both be on the chopping block, so they at least have some options if they need the extra cap room to fill out their roster.

We have him listed as the No. 89 best available player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
