Wes Welker Clears Concussion Protocol, Probable For Week 12

Update:

Broncos interim HC Jack Del Rio told reporters on Friday that WR Wes Welker has cleared the necessary concussion protocol and is listed as probably for Sunday’s game against the Patriots.

Welker sustained the concussion during the fourth quarter, but he managed to stay in the game and catch another pass before the medical staff took him into the locker for further evaluation.

There was some doubt at the beginning of the week as to whether or not Welker would be able to play against his former team, but indications suggest that he’s ready to go.

The Denver Broncos have confirmed that WR Wes Welker did in fact suffer a concussion during Sunday’s win over the Chiefs.

With Welker going down with a concussion, his status for Week 12’s game against his former team, the Patriots, remains in question. He’ll have to pass of the league’s concussion protocols before he can even return to the practice field.

We’ll have more regarding Welker’s status throughout the week.
