Western Michigan WR Corey Davis Suffers Ankle Injury, Combine Status In Doubt

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Western Michigan WR Corey Davis suffered an ankle injury while training and Mike Garafolo adds that his status for the Scouting Combine is now in doubt.

Garafolo adds that while Davis is considered a “stud”, the pre-draft process will still be big for him, as it will give him another opportunity to showcase his overall ability.

Davis is widely considered to be a first-round talent and one of the top receivers in this year’s draft class, so even if this does impact his draft stock some, it’s unlikely he would experience a major fall.

Davis, 22, was the MAC Offensive Player of the Year this past season. During his four years at Western Michigan, Davis caught 331 passes for 5,278 yards receiving (15.9 YPR) to go along with 52 touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Davis’ injury as the news is available.
